The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services for the community.

SASSA will probably be rendering solutions for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency said it is alarmed in regards to the significant amount of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The goal in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some higher number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no thoroughly functional office committed to service the area each day. The services point made for intervention activities a large inflow of likely beneficiaries, which makes it difficult with the office to attend to all people who visit a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra sources to enable the servicing of all shoppers and enhance access to Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
